My friend Noah Shachtman of Danger Room has become the newest Brookings Institution scholar. This is a milestone for the blogosphere. It’s one thing for young upstarts like CAP and CNAS to let in me and Matthew Yglesias and Andrew Exum. Brookings is the establishment. Noah and Pete Singer have just flown a remotely-piloted vehicle over Massachusetts Avenue and fired a Predator at the gates. (In honor of the achievement, I wrote this post in a Danger Room style.)
True to form, Noah begins his Brookings tenure by asking himself if his new position represents an irredeemable journalistic conflict of interest.
